Rafael Omar Rivera Zayas is a cinematographer from Puerto Rico.  He was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico in 1992. Rafael, received his Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design in 2015 from the University of Puerto Rico in Carolina. In 2016, he decided to pursue his dreams in the film industry and moved to Los Angeles, California. He graduated in 2017 with a Master’s in Cinematography from the New York Film Academy.  

 

Since then, Rafael has been working in the film industry.  As a freelancer, he has worked as Director of Photography, Camera Operator, Assistant Camera, Gaffer, Best Boy Electric, Electrician & Grip. Due to his versatile range of experiences, Rafael has worked for notable brands, major networks, and entertainment companies such as: Univision, Lifetime, Sony Music, Universal Music, Ozobot, and Veronica Beard.
